This well known lookout is where you get the first “Wow!” view of idyllic Hanalei Valley and River. From here (Princeville) the road descends and crosses the little bridge visible on the mid bottom of the painting and you’ll get a close up of the taro fields beyond. Often, there’ll be dozens of waterfalls on Mt. Waialeale. In winter there’ll be occasions when that bridge will be closed due to flooding. On this day the setting is peaceful, man and nature seem to be in balance. The artist has put himself with a painting of the view to the right, Hanalei Bay and Bali Hai ridge. It is his attempt to show all the glorious feature of Hanalei.
