"Hanauma Hibiscus"

“Hanauma Hibiscus”

   by Bill Braden

“Hanauma Hibiscus” is an image commissioned for use as a note card by Hawaii’s leading publishing company.  Thousands of these cards were sent around the planet. The original sold at a well known gallery in Lahaina.  The “artistic license” I exercised on this image is the hibiscus in the foreground; the yellow hibiscus is the Hawaii State Flower.  Why is the girl sitting on the wall on the right wearing her mask and fins?
