Hang Your Hat in Hawaii, Chinaman's Hat, Kualoa

"Hang Your Hat in Hawaii" (China Man’s Hat) by Bill Braden

This image of Mokoli'i Island, Kualoa, Oahu is at the northern end of Kaneohe Bay.  It was commissioned by Island Heritage for use as a note card.  Thousands of this image have been distributed and mailed around the world.  The coconut tree in the foreground was specifically placed using my “artist license”.  The legend of Mokoli'i is that it was the tail of a Mo'o (dragon) slain by Hi'iaka, the Volcano Goddess Pele's sister.
